Some experiments to study the speed of sound in air, liquids and solids. There is potential to use this at AH too. There are methods using Audacity (freeware) and oscilloscopes. the Audacity method requires a computer with a true stereo sound card. Some laptops don’t have this, and simply record the same thing on each track. If you don’t have a computer with a stereo input, you can buy a USB soundcard that will provide this. Contact SSERC for suggested devices.
