Our careers events are developed with the STEM Ambassador in Scotland team and offer the opportunity to hear from working professionals in a variety of STEM industries. Our first event for 2023-24 academic session will take place on 14th December, via Microsoft Teams, from 16.15 – 17.15 and looks at the Life Sciences sector in Scotland. This course will fall a week after our N5 Laboratory Science course and ties in with the course content to illustrate the variety of roles that exist within Life Sciences – this is one of the top economic growth areas of Scotland, offering diverse employment opportunities for our young people. This webinar will include a panel of experts with Q&A opportunities throughout. This is open to teachers and learners in the senior phase.

The course session aims to explore the diverse roles that exist within the Life Sciences sector across Scotland, recognising its importance to the Scottish economy. This course is run in partnership with the STEM Ambassadors in Scotland hub, based at SSERC. A panel of experts, working within the Life Sciences industry, will speak about their roles and the various routes that exist to gain employment within the sector. This webinar will be particularly suited to practitioners delivering the SQA National 5 Laboratory Sciences and Health Sector courses.
