The 2024 STEM Technician Training Day ( Friday 17th May) is here to give you some hands on practical professional learning in a wide range of subjects. Best of all its FREE!!
We have put together a program that offers you the opportunity to try some activities that you may be new to you, combined with the chance for some professional networking and visit our vendor stalls.
This years session are:-
Welding
A taster session of beginners welding. This two-hour session will give you a basic introduction to welding. This will include a hands-on trial of a variety of welding techniques.
Basic Woodturning
A session covering the basic techniques required for simple turning. Throughout this session you will produce T light candle holder on a standard wood lathe.
Experiment with Radioactivity
A session covering the safe setup and running of experiments involving radioactivity.
Building Microscale Chemistry
A session demoing how to build basic microscale chemistry apparatus.
Microscale Biology
A session covering three simple biology microscale experiments, including enzymes and vit c titration.
Sensational Seaweed
An experiment to show photosynthesis with quantitative results using seaweed and a colorimeter.
Microbit and Robots
A session learning about coding on the BBC microbit. Helped by some clever little robots.
