The SSERC Board of Directors and Trustees is pleased to be able to announce the recipients of the 2024 SSERC Honorary Fellowship Award.
The Honorary Fellowship is a prestigious award given to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to STEM learning and training in Scotland throughout their careers and demonstrate the values associated with SSERC.
This year, the Honorary Fellowship is being awarded to two individuals who both, in different ways, have not only made an exceptional contribution to the STEM education and training landscape in Scotland but have also played a significant role in supporting the work of SSERC and acting as positive ambassadors for the organisation.
Our first new Fellow is Clare Adamson, MSP. Clare has been associated with SSERC for several years, serving on the SSERC Board as Vice Chair until recently. Clare is passionate about STEM education and training, convening the Scottish Parliaments Cross Party Group – Science and Technology. Clare acts as an ambassador for the organisation within the Scottish Parliament and outside.
Our second new Fellow is Hannah Christie. Hannah is a highly regarded education practitioner currently the Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care at Hillhead High School in Glasgow, with previous leadership roles in Design and Technology in secondary schools and seconded posts in Glasgow City Council. Hannah has been a great supporter of the work of SSERC and is a regular facilitator in our Leadership in STEM Education professional learning course, where she is recognised by the delegates as an expert in the area of STEM curriculum audits and associated improvement processes.
Clare and Hannah will be presented with their Honorary Fellowship Trophy and Certificate at an SSERC celebration event in Glasgow on October 1, 2024.
